Job Summary
Circulate and scrub operating room and endoscopy cases while picking cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Perform duties in accordance with system-wide competencies, including cataract and retina procedures where experience exists. Maintain positive relationships with physicians, staff, and patients while exercising critical thinking and clinical judgment in a complex environment. Requires one year of experience, BSN preferred, and current RN licensure with ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years of experience
- Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Graduate nurses must complete licensure examination within SIX MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Registered Nurse (RN) OR Temporary Practice Permit (TPP)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
- Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with cataract and retina cases (preferred)
- UPMC approved national certification preferred
- BSN preferred
