Job Summary
Conduct technical reviews and act as the primary escalation point for consultancy projects involving IR35, employment status, and personal tax matters. Provide specialist advice on complex tax and employment status issues, manage HMRC enquiries and disclosures, and prepare technical submissions. Mentor Tax Consultants through daily coaching, deliver training workshops, and ensure continuous professional development across the team. Review and approve advisory opinions, audit findings, and client recommendations to maintain the highest quality standards. Support the Head of Professional Services on significant client engagements and contribute technical content to proposals and business development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Essential ATT qualified or qualified through significant relevant professional experience
- Reasonable exposure to advising on IR35, Off-Payroll Working and employment status matters
- Strong knowledge of employment tax and personal tax compliance requirements
- Experience with HMRC enquiries, disclosures and settlement discussions
- Ability to interpret legislation, HMRC guidance and case law and apply findings in a practical commercial context
- Strong technical review and quality assurance skills
- Experience mentoring, coaching or developing technical colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management skills
- Commercial awareness and client relationship management experience
- Ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities
Desired Qualifications
- Desirable ATT, ACCA or ACA qualification or qualified by experience
- Experience supporting larger corporate or enterprise clients
- Knowledge of contingent workforce compliance and workforce risk management
- Experience delivering client training, webinars or technical presentations
- Experience working within a consultancy, legal or professional services environment
