Job Summary
FBW & Secondary Flight Control System engineering role at Bombardier: perform integration of the FBW & Secondary Flight Controls system on the aircraft; support concept development, design philosophy, and supplier interaction; conduct analyses to evaluate concept feasibility; develop, validate and verify technical requirements; review/test procedures and test reports for certification; troubleshoot in-service aircraft and drive corrective actions; conduct trade studies and life-cycle cost analyses; ensure conformance to ARP4754 and Bombardier standards; occasional travel to suppliers and regulatory authorities, plus on-site support at Toronto and Montreal facilities. Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, minimum 7 years in aerospace, knowledge of system definition/integration/certification, understanding of aircraft systems/interfaces, Part 25 certification, MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, and bilingual English/French; self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with limited supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- minimum 7 years’ experience in aerospace related field
- direct involvement in the definition and certification of at least one FBW and/or Secondary Flight Control system
- knowledge of Part 25 certification process
- working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
- familiarity with other simulation/design tools such as CATIA/ADAMS would be an asset
- bilingual in English and French
- ability to work with limited supervision, be organized, team player, customer focused, proactive and have strong interpersonal communication skills
