Job Summary
Avionics Systems DAD role within Bombardier involving development, testing, certification, and in-service support of avionics for Challenger aircraft. Responsibilities include integrating avionics subsystems (AFCS, communications, navigation, displays, IMS/OMS/Data load, CVR/FDR/AHMS, etc.), defining and managing engineering system requirements to meet safety and certification objectives, coordinating with suppliers and interfaces, witnessing or participating in certification tests and inspections, reviewing compliance reports, and ensuring aircraft avionics meet regulatory standards. Preferred candidates hold or are pursuing DAD/DAR status, have familiarity with TCCA/EASA/FAA processes, and are knowledgeable about applicable DO-178/DO-160/DO-254/ARP4754/ARP4761 standards. The role requires strong communication, problem-solving, teamwork, willingness to travel, and a hybrid schedule with two days in the office. Bayesian salary range is stated in CAD with a range but base compensation will be determined and may differ by skills and qualifications; the role emphasizes senior-level leadership and collaboration within Bombardier’s aerospace programs.
Required Qualifications
- university degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- Current or candidate-for DAD / DAR status preferred
- familiar with TCCA, EASA or FAA
- knowledge of civil airworthiness FAR Part 25 avionics regulations and RTCA/ARP documents
- extensive experience with system design, test and certification of aircraft avionics
- familiar with DO-178, DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754, ARP4761
- strong communication and problem-solving skills
- team-oriented and travel willingness
- hybrid work schedule with 2 days in office
