Job Summary
Remote medical coding role reviewing medical records to assign/verify CPT and ICD-10 codes under compliance guidelines. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare providers, reviews daily work queues for timely charge review and claim creation, and ensures confidentiality of protected health information. Requires strong attention to detail, initiative, ability to work independently or in a team, and proficiency with medical terminology and coding concepts. Emphasis on payer policies, coding guidelines, and ability to resubmit corrected claims; remote, full-time opportunity with benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Base Coding Certification (CPC, CPC-H, CCA, CCS, CCS-P)
- Two additional specialty credentials
- At least 6 years’ experience coding Evaluation and Management services
- Surgical specialty experience
- Knowledge of ICDCM/PCS & CPT coding systems
- Ability to communicate coding information to providers and staff
- Knowledge of HIPAA Privacy & Security policies
