Job Summary
Perform professional grooming services for dogs, including breed-specific trims and pet trims, while conducting client consultations to understand grooming goals. Recommend services and products supporting pet health, monitor pets for concerns, and communicate observations with site leaders and pet parents. Maintain grooming equipment, ensure a clean workspace, and follow safety and animal handling standards. Promote sales to achieve revenue targets and attend required team meetings and trainings. This role requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds in a fast-paced environment with pet hair and cleaning products. NVA Pet Resorts offers commission-based earning potential, tips, and access to Paragon Pet Grooming School for advanced skill development.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional grooming experience preferred
- Knowledge of breed standards, coat types, and grooming techniques
- Strong scissoring and finishing skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Passion for animal care and safe, gentle handling practices
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to safely handle pets of various sizes and temperaments
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
