Job Summary
Develop and sustain long-term, caring, trusting relationships with eight children through one-on-one interactions and classroom settings. Set realistic expectations and goals based on each child's strengths, then teach life skills, healthy habits, and academic reinforcement. Provide enrichment resources that promote cultural awareness and community service while modeling responsible behavior and problem-solving. Build positive relationships with families and teachers, manage expenses and time within organizational guidelines, and complete all documentation including journals, plans, and evaluations. Transport children in a personal vehicle for mentoring activities and attend team meetings to support the development team.
Required Qualifications
- 2- or 4-year degree
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Vehicle insurance with liability limits of at least 100K/300K/100K
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to work with children in varied settings to help them learn and grow
- Ability to cultivate trusting relationships with children, parents, teachers, and community members
- Strong sense of confidentiality and professional communication
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to set and achieve goals for each child's development
- Skilled in time management and administrative accuracy
- Comfortable with high mobility and frequent driving
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Basic computer proficiency (email, MS Outlook, database use)
- Must know, understand, honor, and support the organization's mission, vision, values, and principles
- Must be able to clearly articulate the organization's function
