Job Summary
Develop, implement, and evaluate profession-specific standards to advance the Spiritual Care vision and strategic goals across all four Sunnybrook campuses. Act as a role model and mentor to promote continued staff development while representing professional interests in internal and external interprofessional committees. Lead the advancement of the Spiritual Care Vision and Road Map by facilitating research, scholarship, and evidence-based quality improvement activities. Coordinate clinical placements and learner opportunities with universities and professional associations, optimizing the student and faculty experience. Uphold standards for Clinical Pastoral Education and ensure multi-faith education to develop cultural competency among staff and students. Ensure worship services and religious spaces meet the needs of people from multifaith backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Masters of Divinity or equivalent degree
- Registered and in good standing with the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care (CASC)
- Minimum five (5) years broad experience in spiritual care practice
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a variety of stakeholders and team members
- Self-directed, strong critical thinking, change management, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively and to take initiative and leadership when appropriate
- Proven effective oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation that impacts health care practices
- Commitment to student learners and overseeing the Education of spiritual care learners
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education in Leadership and/or Adult Education would be an asset
- Experience in a healthcare or hospital setting would be preferred
- Research/academic scholarship/quality improvement experience would be an asset
