Job Summary
Lead and grow the Survey Department in Mechanicsburg, PA, overseeing field crews and office staff, planning workloads, mentoring junior staff, establishing QA/QC practices, providing responsible charge and signing/sealing of survey deliverables, and supporting proposals and client development across transportation and land development projects. Requires PA PLS license, 8+ years of progressive surveying experience with leadership, strong boundary law knowledge, familiarity with PA standards/PennDOT, and proficiency with Carlson, Trimble, Civil 3D, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation, GPS, and total stations.
Required Qualifications
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Pennsylvania (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive surveying experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of boundary law and surveying principles
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania survey standards and PennDOT requirements
- Proficiency with survey software (Carlson, Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D)
- Experience with CADD platforms (AutoCAD/Civil 3D; MicroStation a plus)
- Experience with GPS, total stations, and data collectors
