Job Summary
Designs and analyzes freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails; prepares studies, reports, memos, plans, specifications, and cost estimates; leads roadway design discipline and coordinates with other design disciplines; supports client relations and stakeholder coordination; takes ownership of projects from start to finish with focus on quality, budget, and schedule; requires BS Civil Engineering, PE license within 1 year, 5-10 years roadway experience, proficiency with Bentley/Autodesk software, and knowledge of AASHTO criteria; favorable DOT standards and plan preparation experience; strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineering license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire
- 5-10 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering
- Experience working on multidisciplinary project teams
- Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
- Proficiency using Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software
- Knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
