Professional Engineer - Roadway

Job Summary
Lead roadway design projects from initiation to completion, including design and analysis of freeways, interstates, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use trails. Prepare studies, reports, memos, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects. Work under a Project Manager to lead the roadway design discipline and coordinate with other design disciplines; support client relations, stakeholder coordination, and subconsultant management. Take ownership of projects with attention to quality, budget, and schedule. Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success. Requires a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, PE license (or ability to obtain within one year), and 5-10 years of roadway engineering experience. Proficiency in Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software and knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures. Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus. Strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivation, and MS Office proficiency. Salary in the range of $105,000-$150,000 annually; full benefits including health, PTO, 401(k), and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license in state of employment or ability to obtain within one year of hire
- 5-10 years of experience in roadway transportation engineering
- Solid background in AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
- Proficiency with Bentley and/or Autodesk civil design software
- Knowledge of DOT standards and plan preparation procedures
- Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience a plus
- Solid written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Desire to grow professionally with projects
