Job Summary
Coordinate new hire onboarding by conducting pre-start introductions, diagnosing learning needs, and planning competency-based orientation schedules. Implement educational plans through classroom instruction, "class day" acclimation sessions, and equipment training while evaluating daily progress with preceptors. Lead ongoing staff education by assessing annual learning needs, developing materials for new products and regulations, and ensuring mandatory completion of Education Day. Facilitate change management and mentor peers by supporting professional advancement applications, reviewing performance improvement data, and preparing certification study groups.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- BSN required
- MSN with education focus
- MEd preferred
- Minimum of five years of applicable clinical nursing experience
- Three years applicable clinical nursing experience and two years of formal educator experience
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- Current licensure to practice nursing in her/his state of employment
- Certification in area of specialty
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (through American Nurses Credential Center [ANCC] or Association for Nursing Professional Development [ANPD])
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
Desired Qualifications
- MSN with education focus
- MEd
- Three years applicable clinical nursing experience and two years of formal educator experience
- Membership in professional organizations
