Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive staff education, mentor new hires, and lead professional development initiatives for clinical teams. Analyze practice gaps to design competency-based orientation plans and coordinate annual educational events, including Basic Life Support classes. Evaluate staff learning needs, document progress, and integrate evidence-based research into training materials. Serve as a change agent and resource for multidisciplinary teams while maintaining current clinical competencies in critical care and perinatal areas. Collaborate with preceptors and unit councils to enhance quality of nursing practice and support staff advancement.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- BSN required
- MSN with education focus
- MEd preferred
- Minimum of five years of applicable clinical nursing experience
- Three years applicable clinical nursing experience and two years of formal educator experience
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification in area of specialty
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (through American Nurses Credential Center [ANCC] or Association for Nursing Professional Development [ANPD])
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
Desired Qualifications
- MSN with education focus
