Professional Development Specialist RN - Main Comp Med Stepdown - Part Time -Nights

Job Summary
Conduct assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing professional development practices to identify practice gaps and validate learning needs. Coordinate educational initiatives, facilitate positive learning environments, and lead change management efforts within the Main Comp Med Stepdown unit. Mentor RNs, charge nurses, and preceptors while delivering staff education on new products, medications, and evidence-based practices. Manage onboarding by developing competency-based orientation plans, scheduling "class days," and ensuring all mandatory education is completed. Evaluate staff satisfaction, review nurse-sensitive outcomes, and contribute to unit councils to improve clinical competencies and patient care quality.
Required Qualifications
- BSN required
- MSN with education focus
- MEd preferred
- Minimum of five years of applicable clinical nursing experience
- Three years applicable clinical nursing experience and two years of formal educator experience
- Excellent communication and teaching skills
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification in area of specialty
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (through American Nurses Credential Center [ANCC] or Association for Nursing Professional Development [ANPD])
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- NRP certification
Desired Qualifications
