Job Summary

Design and coordinate national educator professional development programs across online, onsite, and hybrid platforms, including agenda creation, content curation, and promotional material development. Manage a network of facilitators by recruiting, training, and monitoring workshop consistency while executing logistics for partner meetings with aquaria, museums, and universities. Present workshops and webinars, oversee advertising, and guide evaluation processes to advance NOAA Ocean Exploration mission objectives. Coordinate with the Director of Education and national partners to develop outreach programs supporting the Okeanos Explorer expeditions and maintain Alliance Partnership financial agreements.

Required Qualifications

  • Instructional and design leadership capabilities
  • Experience managing professional development programs across online, onsite, and hybrid platforms
  • Ability to enhance ocean literacy and advance agency mission objectives
  • Technical and administrative services management skills
  • Experience managing existing alliances and developing new educational partnerships
  • Experience managing alliances with science institutions including aquaria, museums, universities, and informal science centers
  • Experience coordinating and executing planned ocean education partner meeting logistics
  • Experience presenting workshops and promoting offerings
  • Experience designing, promoting, and executing ocean exploration topical education webinars/presentations
  • Experience executing and guiding PD evaluation(s) and summative workshop evaluations
  • Experience managing Professional Development Workshops for educators
  • Experience providing program management for development, design, and execution of online EX teacher professional development courses
  • Experience coordinating with graphics designers and national partners
  • Experience coordinating with the NOAA National Ocean Service Special Projects Team
  • Experience collaborating with the NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research
  • Experience managing, tracking, and documenting financial agreements
  • Experience developing an education outreach program
  • Experience performing expedition education outreach in the community
  • Ability to maintain and train a network of internal and external workshop facilitators
  • Ability to identify new facilitators and meet workshop implementation needs
  • Ability to lead facilitator training and monitor meetings to ensure consistency
  • Experience coordinating with the Director of Education of OER (TPOC)
  • Experience developing objectives and agendas
  • Experience developing workshop materials including design and development of presentations, handouts, and supply guides
  • Experience curating NOAA Ocean Exploration content including multimedia, expeditions, fact sheets, and lessons
  • Experience communicating workshop priorities, needs, and expectations with internal and external partners
  • Experience creating informational and promotional materials for educator opportunities
  • Experience developing education content
  • Experience with product graphic design
  • Experience with outreach promotion
  • Experience with Learning Ocean Science through Ocean Exploration curriculum
  • Experience working in a team-oriented work environment
  • Experience with sound science and creative solutions
  • Experience in hydrology/water sciences, geospatial analysis, information technology, resource management, conservation, and management and business process improvement
  • Ability to work on-site or remotely
  • Ability to travel in support of meetings, workshops, and field activities
  • Availability contingent on contract award
