Job Summary
Perform precision assembly of infrared camera components, including optics, sensors, and mechanical housings, in a controlled cleanroom environment. Execute functional and environmental testing of IR camera systems per defined procedures while inspecting components and finished assemblies using microscopes and metrology tools to ensure quality standards. Maintain strict adherence to cleanroom protocols, including gowning, contamination control, and ESD handling, while recording production data and test results accurately in manufacturing systems. Identify defects or process deviations and escalate issues to engineering or supervisory staff. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to yield, throughput, and quality, and assist with equipment setup, calibration checks, and routine maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3+ years of experience in cleanroom assembly, electronics manufacturing, or optical/mechanical assembly
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and specifications
- Basic computer skills for data entry and manufacturing systems
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs., unassisted
- Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce
Desired Qualifications
- Technical certification or associate degree
- Experience working with small components and precision tools (tweezers, torque drivers, microscopes)
- Familiarity with electrostatic discharge (ESD) and contamination control practices
- Good communication skills
- Computer Skills: Word, Excel and Email
