Production Technician I - 1st Shift

Job Summary
Operate, maintain, and sanitize food production and packaging equipment to produce high-quality frozen fruit while adhering to GMP, HACCP, and safety regulations. Perform physical tasks including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing, and pulling frozen fruit boxes, and complete routine documentation for product manufacture. Identify visual defects and correct issues as needed, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws and company policies. Work in all production and packaging areas, operating manual and motorized pallet jacks and walkie stackers, while meeting efficiency and production metrics. Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays in temperatures ranging from 40-47 degrees Fahrenheit.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP's and general instructions
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment
- Ability to work in a high paced environment
- Reliable attendance
- Ability to operate manual and motorized pallet jack and walkie stacker
- Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT)
- Must be able to stand for 8+ hours on concrete and/or metal grating
- Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 60 lbs. on frequent basis
- Must be able to bend/stoop/squat/twist, kneel and turn throughout workday for varying lengths of time
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms below shoulder level to above shoulder level
- Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 40-47 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to squat and/or kneel and to bend on frequent basis
- Must be able to climb stairs
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
- Employment is contingent upon drug screen, background verification and skills test required for some positions
- Must be able to follow the Dole Packaged Foods Code of Conduct
Desired Qualifications
- Previous operating experience preferred
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
