Job Summary
Receive verbal or written instructions from supervisor or designated plant personnel to exercise basic skills in operating distribution center tools and equipment. Check dimensions of material before, during, and after processing to maintain specified tolerances, then count, weigh, and segregate pieces by grades. Stencil, stamp, attach ID tags, color code products, and verify orders to customer specification while transporting material using side loaders, lift trucks, and overhead cranes. Keep production records, operate transmission equipment, and lubricate, clean, adjust, or make minor repairs to production equipment and tools. Maintain a clean work area and notify supervisor of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years previous manufacturing experience
- Previous experience with circular saws, grinders, milling machines, lathes, cut off saws and other similar processing equipment, side loader, plate flippers, gas powered lift trucks, forklifts, carts, floor operated overhead crane, skids, scale, tape measure, micrometers, various hand tools, chains, hooks, slings, wood and other packaging materials, stencils, bar press, power nailer, power stapler, power bander, manual bander, plate and bar magnets, calipers, etc.
- Able to perform efficiently under supervision and direction
- Basic math & measuring skills
