Job Summary
Conduct meat processing tasks including cutting, sorting, skinning, and boning pork using saws, knives, and machinery. Perform manual material handling by lifting, moving, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds while wearing hard hats, hearing protection, and protective toed boots. Work from a standing position on rigid surfaces for prolonged periods, frequently walking long distances on wet, uneven surfaces and climbing steps or elevated platforms. Remain alert to dangers from sharp objects, moving equipment, and trip hazards in a noisy, odorous environment with temperature extremes. Work Monday through Friday on the first shift with overtime available.
Required Qualifications
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Upper extremity motor skills
- Ability to safely wear hard hat, hearing protection, eye protection, protective toed boots and gloves
- Ability to walk long distances on wet, uneven and slippery surfaces
- Ability to climb and descend steps and/or stairways
- Ability to stand on elevated platforms
- Ability to work from a standing position on rigid surfaces for prolonged periods of time (3-4 hours)
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull items weighing up to 30 pounds
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to remain alert to dangers of trip hazards, sharp objects, moving/rotating equipment and powered industrial pallet truck traffic
