Job Summary
Greet donors, unload trucks, and assist with unloading donations while providing courteous service. Sort, inspect, categorize, and price donations according to designated departments and daily production goals. Hang clothing on racks, document items on production sheets, and operate baling machines or forklifts as assigned. Palletize, wrap, and track materials for transport while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. Follow Dell Reconnect and standard operating procedures for sorting, labeling, and stacking materials. Price and move furniture to the retail sales floor. Maintain safety gear and adhere to all safety procedures. Work in a production/warehouse environment with extended standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to dust and varying noise levels.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing to accept instructions and carry them out with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work and cooperate with others.
- A criminal background check is required.
- Forklift operation requires company-specific certification.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work with a variety of individuals.
- Proficiency in completing assignments accurately and on time.
- Ability to visually inspect, sort, and grade merchandise, including distinguishing colors and condition of donated items.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle, sort, and process a variety of donated goods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with donors, customers, and team members.
- Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift, with frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and use of hands and arms.
- Regularly required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate equipment safely, including forklifts (company certification required).
- Safety gear may be required.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic math skills (addition and subtraction) preferred.
