Job Summary
Production Team Lead responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within an assigned area, shift, or production line. Provide hands-on leadership to production employees, ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Serve as the primary link between operators and management, driving performance, engagement, and operational excellence. Lead and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. Assign work, balance labor, and ensure adequate coverage; monitor output, downtime, scrap, and efficiency; escalate issues. Ensure adherence to SOPs and production schedules; train and cross-train teammates; promote a positive, respectful, and accountable environment. Support performance management, enforce safety rules, conduct safety talks and investigations, ensure quality standards, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering on corrective actions. Identify opportunities for safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvements; participate in Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and other initiatives; support process improvements and equipment optimization. Maintain production, downtime, and labor records in ERP/MES and communicate goals and handoffs clearly. Escalate equipment issues, material shortages, and staffing concerns promptly.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3–5+ years of manufacturing or production experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a lead, senior operator, or supervisory capacity
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure or certification
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows
- Basic computer skills (ERP/MES systems, Microsoft Office)
