Job Summary
Production Support Engineer responsible for ensuring seamless on-air productions by supporting all production systems across Versant Media locations (Englewood Cliffs, NJ; New York, NY) and remote production sites (Washington, DC; LA; San Francisco). Tasks include troubleshooting and diagnosing live broadcast issues in SDI and IP 2110 environments, maintaining video/audio workflows (AES, MADI, AES67, Ravenna, Dante), supporting switchers, routers, encoders/decoders, master control, and studio equipment; maintaining reliability of broadcast technology; collaborating with Engineering and Operations to optimize workflows; and on-call incident response with documentation of issues and resolutions. Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, experience with virtualization (VMs/containers), networking fundamentals (TCP/IP), and proficiency with VMs, cloud/VM-based applications, and tools like JIRA and Confluence. The role is onsite five days per week with rotation shifts and adds that the candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced 24/7 live production environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in film production, Broadcasting, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of recent experience supporting live, television production environments
- on-call engineer experience
- ability to work in a fast-paced live production environment
- willingness to work a 24/7 live production schedule including weekends and holidays
