Production Supervisor, Welding

Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift meetings, delegate daily work assignments, and execute scheduled work orders to meet customer requirements. Resolve day-to-day issues to achieve production, safety, shipping, and quality goals while expediting work orders through the manufacturing process. Complete production, scrap, and rework reports; provide input on disciplinary reports and evaluations. Train, develop, and maintain training records on employees. Act as First Responder for the Plant and assist in incident investigations. Record daily attendance and submit payroll reports. Provide a safe working environment by administering the safety program for the assigned area.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 - 5 years experience in manufacturing / production environment
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience (welding, assembly, small parts, paint, etc.)
- Basic computer skills – MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with management and other employees to achieve goals
- Demonstrated ability to support, promote, and adhere to the Westerman philosophy and Code of Conduct
- Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills
- Previous leadership experience
- Basic ability to troubleshoot production/personnel issues
- First Aid/CPR Training
- Emergency Response Training
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, up to entire length of shift (10 – 12 hours)
- Ability to handle physical, repetitive work
- Ability to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirement up to 50 pounds
- Strong range of motion
- Ability to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend repetitively
- Ability to see, speak, read, and hear
- Ability to read instructions and all measuring devices
- Ability to use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts
- Ability to walk over both even and uneven surfaces
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE
- Physical ability to access all areas of the plant and grounds
- Physical ability to crawl in and out of vessels
- Close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus
- Ability to operate required tools safely
