Job Summary
Production Supervisor at Tyson Foods in the Prepared Foods Division. Responsible for building and guiding a team to maintain high production, quality, and yields while ensuring safety. Responsibilities include hiring, training, retaining, and counseling the team; directing pre-shift stretches and workstation rotations; validating daily production orders, shipments, inventory rotation, and product coding; ensuring all workstations are staffed prior to startup; ensuring machinery and stations pass USDA inspection; promoting safety through regular meetings; overseeing processing operations; collaborating with other supervisors to solve problems; providing ongoing education on quality; and performing additional duties as needed. Requires a high school diploma, 1+ year manufacturing experience, basic computer skills, strong leadership and communication abilities, willingness to travel, and alignment with Tyson’s equal opportunity values.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma; additional vocational or college courses preferred
- Experience: 1+ years in a manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory experience preferred
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; strong work ethic; ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Travel: Some travel is required
- Background checks may be required
- USDA Inspection experience or familiarity a plus
