Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate production shift operations by directing work crews processing materials to customer specifications in a safe and productive manner. Analyze work orders to estimate worker hours, create schedules, and assign operating equipment and personnel to ensure efficient material flow. Compute stock requirements, requisition materials, and interpret product specifications to assign duties and coordinate quality control inspections. Establish work procedures, develop measures to improve production methods and equipment performance, and resolve work problems. Manage exempt and non-exempt staff through performance evaluations, PTO approvals, training, and disciplinary actions. Maintain time and production records and participate in the company safety program.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- two to four years' related experience
- training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Supervisory experience in wood products
- Supervisory experience in other manufacturing environments
- Ability to solve practical problems
