Job Summary
Direct manufacturing operations for the Structural Heart Division, controlling production activities, material flow, and inventory to meet volume, quality, and cost targets. Supervise day-to-day floor operations in a cleanroom environment, leading a team of associates while ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP standards. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles by coaching staff on tools like 5S, Standard Work, and Root Cause Analysis to drive continuous improvement and eliminate waste. Monitor key performance indicators, implement corrective actions, and collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to support new product introductions. This second-shift role (3:30pm–2:00am, Mon–Thu) supports Abbott's mission to restore health through device solutions for structural heart disease.
Required Qualifications
- Technical Diploma
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device or pharmaceutical preferred)
- 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of: FDA regulations, ISO 13485, and GMP
- Lean Manufacturing principles and tools
- Cleanroom operations and contamination control
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, life sciences, or a related field
- Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
