Job Summary
Manage production activities for approximately 20 associates across three shifts, including weekend overtime, while forecasting work schedules to identify and resolve resource constraints. Lead a team of hourly manufacturing staff in a technical, high-reliability environment, providing hands-on floor support and serving as the primary escalation point for shift-level operational issues. Enforce safety culture and HSE compliance, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Saft Excellence System to reduce defects and improve yields. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on Operations, Engineering, and Quality to ensure on-time, high-quality product delivery while coaching staff on performance metrics and skill development.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen or 10 yr green card holder
- A four-year degree
- 3+ years of leadership within a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Resilience, self-motivation, and ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Experience managing production performance metrics (SOPs, inventory management, KPIs, lean manufacturing)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Daily work in a dry room environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Must be able to support three-shift manufacturing operations and weekend overtime as necessary
- Must be able to support extended hours to support schedule recovery, customer demand, equipment issues, process changes, or urgent production priorities
- Must wear required PPE and adhere to controlled dry room requirements when on the production floor
- Role requires regular presence on the production floor and active engagement with employees across all shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering
- Bachelor's in Business or another technical discipline
- Master's degree in Business or another Technical discipline
- Experience in lithium-ion battery, aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments
