Job Summary
Supervise production employees on the floor, assigning work and overseeing a line or area while meeting safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Implement action plans to close gaps on key metrics, conduct safety audits, and lead continuous improvement efforts using tools like 5S and root cause analysis. Manage performance issues, administer disciplinary actions, and resolve conflicts within the team. Coordinate training for new model launches, manage production schedules, and control costs and inventory. Interview for open roles, make candidate selections, and ensure compliance with staffing needs and timekeeping policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of Manufacturing experience
- Prior leadership experience or experience as a mentor
- Knowledge of safety practices in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to analyze data and understand metrics and systems
- Strong communication skills, including written, oral and listening
- Experience resolving conflict with others and between others
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain strict confidentiality
- Ability and drive to become certified Green Belt
- Desire for continuous learning
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Prior experience in a manufacturing supervisory role
- Strong computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- 2+ years' experience in a lamination role
- Certified Green Belt (or higher)
