Job Summary
Production Supervisor in Michigan City, IN oversees the production of finished goods, sub-assemblies, and components, aiming for a safe, efficient, and collaborative environment. Responsibilities include improving quality and reducing warranty returns, reviewing RMAs and quality records with the Plant Manager, implementing corrective actions with QC/Engineering, ensuring on-time shipping (KPI: OTS 100%), maintaining payroll and employee records, enforcing disciplinary actions, sustaining effective employee morale and communication, maintaining safety, and evaluating cost-reduction opportunities and potential capital expenditures. Strong emphasis on leadership, supervisory ability, ERP proficiency, problem solving, and adherence to policies. The role requires English communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train and supervise staff.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Requires a good understanding of manufacturing processes and ERP systems
- Must be a US citizen or have authorization to work in the US issued by the Department of Homeland Security
- Must be able to effectively and efficiently communicate with team
- Demonstrated computer skills in spreadsheets, documents and mainframe usage
- Demonstrated ability to lead others and develop a team of high performing individuals
- Requires good organizational and communication skills
- Responsible for implementing and sustaining improvement initiatives and corrective actions
- Requires the ability to plan and achieve production schedules via effective supervision of the employees while operating under limited supervision
- Ability to count, sort, and distribute
- Ability to input data into computers and departmental systems
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and manuals
- Ability to interact / communicate effectively with customers, employees, and external personal
- Effectively communicate in English orally and in writing
