Job Summary
Oversee assembly operations in a Lean manufacturing environment, using Lean principles for process improvement and problem solving. Directly supervise employees in the Assembly Department by planning, assigning, and directing work while interviewing, hiring, and training staff. Coordinate manpower requirements by adjusting personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions and ensure customer order deadlines are met. Maintain time and production records, enforce safety regulations through monthly meetings, and ensure products are made to quality standards. Approve paid time off requests, perform employee evaluations, and relay scheduling information to prevent order delays. Ensure all tools and equipment remain in working order while maintaining a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment
- understanding of LEAN principles
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- basic computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word software
- Must be available for Various Shifts
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
