Job Summary
Plan and direct facility operations on a rotating 24/7 shift cycle, supervising all process operations personnel for safety, quality, and efficiency. Monitor coagulation and dryer processes, prioritize issues, and communicate requirements to maximize uptime. Utilize personnel for line operations, develop materials, and provide employee training. Manage supplies, raw materials, and work rules while enforcing attendance policies. Identify and resolve production problems to minimize customer impact. Define and analyze production reports, reduce quality costs, and participate in improvement projects to adopt lean principles. Maintain compliance with OSHA, PSM, DOT, and environmental regulations. Bachelor's degree preferred with 5+ years of chemical processing supervisor experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) preferred or experience working in the SBR environment or equivalent education, training and experience
- 5+ years supervisor experience of operations in a chemical processing environment
- Must have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing operations (reacting, blending and packaging), equipment usage, and setup procedures
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills and be able to work with all levels of management
- Considerable knowledge of safe work practices, OSHA, DOT, and Environmental rules and regulations
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with hazardous materials, or safety background is preferred
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience preferred
- Computer skills including SAP or similar program preferred
