Job Summary
Production Supervisor needed to oversee the day-to-day activities of an hourly production team for a single product line, ensuring manufacturing operations run according to established production specifications, schedules, volume, cost and wastage targets, and quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising, training and directing the production team; planning and scheduling equipment utilization to maintain maximum productivity; investigating root causes related to scrap, process excursions, quality complaints and fire investigations; ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and process controls; utilizing key operating indicators to control product cost, material usage, machine downtime, and other shift functions; accurately submitting hours worked to payroll; communicating production performance statistics to Production Shift Leaders, Maintenance, and Superintendent, and making improvement recommendations. May be required to perform other related duties.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- minimum of 3 years of operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of production processes
- Strong aptitude for learning and understanding company policies
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Manages a staff of up to 30 employees, sets direction and deploys resources
- Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions
