Production Supervisor I

Job Summary
Lead production teams and manage personnel scheduling, coaching, and training to achieve quality, schedule, staffing, and safety goals. Maintain standard production processes and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements including FDA and TUV. Execute plans to meet productivity indicators, schedule adherence, quality, cost, and service targets while monitoring daily production metrics and tabulating leading indicators for shift transitions. Investigate and resolve quality issues immediately, coordinate daily staff meetings, and communicate production progress to supervisors. Work Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm in Abbott's Costa Rica Electrophysiology Division, supporting breakthrough medical technologies for atrial fibrillation treatment.
Required Qualifications
- 80% completeness of a bachelor's degree program from a four-year college or university on Engineering or Administration
- Up to 2 years supervisory experience
- Basic command of English
- Computer skills
- Demonstrated proficiency on manufacturing systems used to collect data and control/monitor processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of ISO and quality systems as FDA, MDD
- Flexibility to work on different shifts schedule and areas
Desired Qualifications
- Preferably in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry
- Desirable at least one certification related or applicable to medical industry
- For example, CQE, 6Sigma black belt, lean coach, problem solving techniques, etc.
- Experience leading teams including internal experience as line lead
- Knowledge of Costa Rica laws applicable to direct labor operators
