Job Summary
Supervise subordinates in the gypsum production process to ensure production standards are met or exceeded and improve productivity through efficient use of personnel, raw materials, and equipment. Identify and correct immediate maintenance problems affecting productivity and quality, while ensuring a safe working environment through safety training, regulation enforcement, and inspections. Coordinate training for all shift personnel and communicate with plant staff through accurate recording of shift activities to evaluate quality, process, and maintenance issues. Administer plant work rules, attendance disciplinary policy, and SAP production reporting for raw material inventories. Motivate personnel to promote good morale, housekeeping, and high productivity while enforcing all plant safety and productivity goals.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3-5 years' Gypsum plant experience
- Excellent supervisory and communication skills
- Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Knowledge of Safety Plus
- Willing to actively participate and promote a team environment
- Flexible work schedule
- Priority emphasis placed on safety
- Ability to enforce all plant safety and productivity goals, including plant policies/procedures
- Willingness and ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, sometimes involving high stress situations
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
Desired Qualifications
- Computer skills and working knowledge of SAP, preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Gypsum process and mechanical operations preferred
