Job Summary
Provide direction and organization for production personnel by coaching, training, and delivering ongoing performance feedback to ensure parts are produced according to specifications and quality standards. Organize workload based on priority dispatches, set up jobs, and operate machines to place metal parts while checking work in progress for accuracy. Build group commitment to department goals, complete performance evaluations, and manage hiring and corrective actions as needed. Maintain ISO 9001 system responsibilities, ensure shift equipment, and participate actively in Lean activities. Work Monday through Friday from 5:00am to 3:30pm, including occasional Fridays, in a shop environment with moderate noise and exposure to dust, heat, and cold.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience in a precision sheet metal environment
- One year supervisory or lead experience
- Strong math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; additional skills in algebra, geometry and trigonometry
- Strong ability to read blueprints
- Good flat pattern knowledge
- Strong ability to use precision measuring equipment
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand detailed verbal instructions
- Willingness to work hours needed to complete jobs
- Manual dexterity
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must have normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) and hearing (with or without corrective hearing aids)
- This position will require drug testing per company policy
- Monday - Friday 5:00am to 3:30pm with Occasional Fridays
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate plus relevant vocational training (e.g. sheet metal work)
