Job Summary
Direct and coordinate food manufacturing employees to ensure safe shift operations and on-time high-quality production. Plan work schedules, assignments, and sequences to meet production goals while interpreting orders and company policies. Monitor gauges and indicators to ensure operators conform to standards, inspect materials and equipment for defects, and maintain operations data for management reports. Enforce plant GMPs, food safety policies, and housekeeping standards. Provide daily written reports on issues and resolve worker problems through management and subordinates. Demonstrate positive leadership by setting clear goals, providing feedback, and training new employees on safety procedures. Maintain complete responsibility for department activities and performance.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years in food production required
- Excellent communications skills required, including active listening and effective speaking
- Proven ability to work with a variety of people, based not only on legally protected classifications but also differences in communication styles, learning styles and other differences
- Demonstrated skill in contributing to a motivating work environment
- Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest ethical standards in the work environment
- Demonstrated skill in earning and keeping co-worker and direct reports trust
- Demonstrated skill in organizing work, setting priorities and planning ahead required
- Demonstrated skill in working toward goals despite encountering obstacles
- Focus on and commitment to achieving outcomes required
- Two-year associate degree, vocational training, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of three years of experience in food production supervision
