Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and leading by example, while monitoring plant operations including safety, quality, and production areas. Key responsibilities include managing employees’ schedules and performance, optimizing production rates, overseeing equipment maintenance, and ensuring proper material handling. The role requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience, along with three to five years of production experience in heavy industry or manufacturing. Essential skills include computer literacy in Microsoft applications, strong communication abilities, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to lead a team effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of three to five years of production experience in heavy industry or manufacturing
Desired Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the kiln operating system
- General knowledge of the inner workings of heavy industrial equipment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interpret drawings and use the required tools
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems
