Job Summary
Oversee daily plant operations by planning, staffing, and regulating production while ensuring all employees adhere to safety guidelines and sanitary standards. Schedule personnel for optimal efficiency, assign work tasks to line leads, and monitor progress against established procedures and targets. Implement action plans to meet production objectives, conduct root cause analysis for issues, and adjust operations based on customer requirements. Recruit new operators and leads, complete periodic reports for upper management, and drive continuous improvement activities with the management team. Manage direct reports through daily meetings, performance reviews, and coaching to maintain high operational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in overseeing daily plant operations including planning, organizing, staffing, and regulating production
- Ability to oversee and implement safety guidelines for all employees inside a facility
- Experience in hiring and training food production personnel
- Knowledge of appropriate sanitary and protective gear requirements for health and safety
- Ability to complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, and monitoring progress
- Experience monitoring production to ensure compliance with established procedures and standards
- Ability to schedule personnel for optimal efficiency within allocated amounts
- Experience assisting with development of new food products to boost sales and increase generated returns
- Ability to allot work tasks to every lead on all lines
- Experience setting production objectives and implementing action plans for achieving set targets
- Ability to prepare periodic reports to update upper management on food production activities
- Experience creating work shifts to ensure round-the-clock food production operations
- Ability to identify customer requirements and adjust to meet such needs
- Experience undertaking continuous training and development of employees
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
- Experience recruiting new operators and leads for lines
- Ability to report issues to shift manager that will keep us from achieving daily planned pounds
- Experience working with scheduling to ensure production is running as scheduled and coming up with solutions when production is falling behind schedule
- Ability to set department objectives/KPI's and review/assess ongoing performance of direct reports
- Experience conducting daily production meetings with leads
- Ability to report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
- Experience consistently promoting high standards through personal example and rolling them out through the team
- Ability to supervise and lead the team ensuring adequate staffing levels and accountability
- Experience motivating and coaching the team to operational success
- Ability to monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance
- Experience reviewing, implementing and updating company records e.g. training metrics, performance reviews, risk assessments
- Ability to communicate KPIs and annual plan so each employee is aware
- Experience working with the management team to share ideas and improve operation
- Ability to recommend, support and implement continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality in line with quality standards and customer requirements
- Experience developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
