Job Summary
Lead the manufacturing function of a designated production area by planning, organizing, and supervising employees to ensure compliance with safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals. Drive the lean manufacturing system by assigning work, implementing improvements in operating procedures, and resolving employee issues while enforcing company policies. Oversee all departmental activities, provide coaching to staff, and complete required safety training to maintain a safe work environment. Report and correct unsafe practices, ensuring all work activities comply with applicable laws and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3 + years' experience in a manufacturing related position
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- experience in the automotive industry
- Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of lean manufacturing processes/procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of measuring devices i.e. micrometers, height stands, calipers
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with proven safety programs or quality programs (i.e. Kaizen)
