Job Summary
Supervise hourly staff across multiple manufacturing departments to ensure efficient, economical operations aligned with quality standards and production schedules. Manage workflow and productivity through direct guidance, coaching, and daily communication with managers and peers to improve procedures and methods. Utilize operational metrics and on-floor presence to monitor manpower, machine utilization, and repairs while auditing labor and machine reporting for accuracy. Implement lean manufacturing solutions, investigate problems related to materials or equipment, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and labor contracts. Develop training programs for a flexible workforce and conduct performance appraisals to recommend wage adjustments or promotions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of related experience in operations
- prior supervisory and/or lead experience
- familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid training
- Ability to use critical thinking to make important decisions for team and business operation
- Ability to think and react quickly should production challenges arise
- demonstrate time management skills/manage many projects or tasks at once
- demonstrate conflict resolution
- Must be able to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field desired
- 5+ years of related experience in operations and prior supervisory and/or lead experience desired
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office
