Job Summary
Supervise and support a team of production technicians on the plant floor while overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and timelines are met. Enforce all safety policies and procedures, monitor the nylon/polymer production process, and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and other departments to keep operations running smoothly. Track production data, report key metrics to leadership, train team members, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste. This role offers a salary of $80,000–$100,000 per year for a full-time position in Sumter, SC, with relocation assistance potentially available. Autonomy is partnering with a leading chemical manufacturing company to place this experienced production leader in their production operation.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in chemical, polymer, or industrial manufacturing
- 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, safety compliance, and production workflows
- Strong communicator — comfortable talking to both your team on the floor and leadership in the office
- Ability to troubleshoot process issues and make sound decisions under pressure
- Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to track production data and meet deadlines
- A hands-on, lead-from-the-floor management style
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with polymerization, nylon resin, or specialty chemical manufacturing
- Familiarity with SAP or similar manufacturing/ERP systems
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field
