Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift meetings to discuss safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and cost issues. Assign personnel to tasks and equipment, order supplies, and troubleshoot machine problems with maintenance. Escalate injuries, equipment, or personnel issues to management while ensuring the team meets quality and production standards. Coordinate safety and quality training, hearing tests, and performance reviews. Verify and approve shift payroll, report attendance status, and lead housekeeping efforts. Identify and resolve personnel and safety issues immediately, implement continuous improvements, and balance results in safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with an excellent safety record.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts, and report on time for scheduled shifts and follow company attendance policies
- Possesses strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Possesses basic knowledge in math, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- Possesses intermediate computer skills
- Understands production rates and production schedules
- Ability to balance and achieve results in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost Reduction
- Must have the ability to complete two or more tasks simultaneously
- Self-motivated and able to work with little or no supervision and maintain a working and up-to-date knowledge of products and services
- Must be able to handle self in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors
- Ability to take responsibility for self and team
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to continually bend, stoop, crouch, reach above shoulder, use arms, wrists, grasp and squeeze with hands, access constricted spaces, and lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to dusty or dirty ambient conditions
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to hot or cold ambient conditions
- Must be able to withstand occasional exposure to mild chemical irritants
