Production supervisor (3 months FTC)

Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day production activities to ensure efficient operations, consistent product quality, and compliance with health and safety standards. Supervise production teams, coordinate workflows, meet production targets, and drive continuous improvement to reduce waste. Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for permanent and seasonal staff, including coordination of pre-employment medicals. Ensure all packing, processing, and ripening protocols strictly adhere to established specifications while maintaining ISO 45001 certification through consistent safety reporting and toolbox talks. Regularly check production documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. This fixed-term contract position is based in Kempton Park, Gauteng, for Westfalia Fruit, a leading global avocado supplier.
Required Qualifications
- Matric
- qualification in Agriculture or Production Management
- +3 years production supervisory experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Health & Safety, or equivalent responsibility
- Stock control experience
- Experience in working for a Woolworths supplier
- Person of integrity

- Knowledge in citrus, grapes and apples
- Production planning, workflow coordination, and knowledge of basic labour law
