Job Summary
Lead daily manufacturing operations for the 2nd shift by making operational decisions to maintain production flow and prioritizing labor and resources to meet changing demands. Conduct daily startup walkthroughs of all machinery, verify quality check sheets, and ensure work orders are complete, accurate, and timely. Coach employees on safety procedures, assign work, and resolve personnel issues by analyzing data and investigating root causes of quality concerns. Submit daily reports, documentation, and attend production hand-off meetings while coordinating with shipping and receiving for finished goods storage. Maintain the cleanliness of the production area and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce machine downtime and improve efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of manufacturing supervisory experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of production methods, lean manufacturing practices documentation, data tracking and analysis, and operations management
- Ability to effectively motivate and lead a production team to meet/exceed production standards
- Ability to pass forklift training and certification
- Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible manufacturing leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience leading teams of 25–40 employees preferred
- Experience in Lean manufacturing environments is preferred
- Ability to provide positive and effective communications, both verbal and written to managers, production team, and co-workers, including other maintenance staff regarding status, needs and recommendations to ensure the operating condition of equipment
- Ability to work with basic office computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel at an intermediate level; PowerPoint a plus
