Job Summary
Production Supervisor on 2nd shift at Smithfield leading production employees, ensuring safety, USDA/HACCP compliance, and high-quality output. Responsible for training and coaching staff, tracking yields and efficiencies, maintaining equipment and facilities, and driving continuous improvement and cost management through effective daily communications and line leadership. Familiarity with SAP and food processing operations is a plus; the role requires adaptability to fast-paced manufacturing environments and occasional travel. Relocation package is not offered; candidate should be able to work extended hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience acting as a lead by providing training, coaching or mentoring to less experienced staff or through managing a process or project
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) while leading problem-solving efforts for complex process issues with solid analytical and math abilities
- Skilled at motivating, training, and coaching employees to achieve peak performance while fostering a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment
- Willing to work long hours and weekends when needed
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
