Job Summary
Direct workflow to meet customer orders by coaching the manufacturing team and assigning labor based on production work orders. Establish relationships with all employees to foster problem solving using LEAN Manufacturing principles while suggesting equipment changes to increase efficiency. Interview, hire, and train staff through performance appraisals, and manage inventory issues via the ERP system. Analyze and resolve work problems to exceed metrics in safety, quality, and cost management, while maintaining daily production records. Write procedures and SOPs for implementation and training, and interface with maintenance, planning, and quality control departments. Ensure plant personnel follow safety rules and report incidents or downtime daily.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Production Management or related field
- 3 years production experience in a production environment
- Practical experience with LEAN manufacturing principles
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- General computer Skills (i.e. Word, Excel, etc.)
- Ability to learn and use new applications as necessary
