Job Summary
Production Supervisor on 2nd shift responsible for managing shift operation of a food manufacturing facility, including production and packaging of finished goods, personnel management, labor cost control, waste control, and food safety. Responsible for executing production schedules to meet customer orders and maintain quality and food safety standards; establishing employee schedules and coordinating work of production associates to achieve plant goals; continually training, coaching, and supervising staff; utilizing performance measurement systems to provide feedback on productivity, cost, quality, food safety, and employee safety; enforcing attendance, job expectations, cGMPs, productivity metrics, and SOP compliance; managing production labor budget and reporting on direct labor, production efficiencies, quality, and safety; minimizing downtime and addressing audit deficiencies; maintaining safe working conditions; collaborating with Human Resources on personnel and performance issues; supporting the food safety program and legality of products; performing other job-related duties as assigned; educational emphasis on business or related field, with leadership experience in production in a manufacturing/food setting; strong technical and communication skills; proficiency with ERP/WMS and MS Office; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- College degree in business or related field preferred or equivalent work experience
- 2–5 years of leadership experience in production, preferably in the food industry, or manufacturing experience required
- Strong computer skills including experience with warehouse management systems, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically and solve complex problems
- Ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Self-directed with the ability to work without close supervision
