Job Summary
Lead production, quality, and efficiency teams to meet daily goals by reviewing scrap and defects, coordinating corrective actions with the Quality department, and driving continuous improvement through Lean/Kaizen principles. Manage station layouts, implement 5s methodology, and ensure proper material flow using FIFO while maintaining accurate inventory levels. Train team members on automated equipment operation, safety protocols, and troubleshooting to support error-proofing and digital manufacturing initiatives. Develop Team Leaders, conduct cross-training for 100% job rotations, and lead Kaizen activities to resolve workplace issues independently. This 2nd shift role in Auburn Hills, MI, requires a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of manufacturing/union experience, with a focus on JIT automotive and robotic assembly systems.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years production/plant management experience in a manufacturing/union environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability in maintaining positive employment relations
- Maintain a high level of integrity
- Excellent organizational and computer skills
- Bachelor's degree
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a JIT Automotive plant
- Previous experience leading a team in a Automotive Seating plant
- Experience working with robotic assembly systems, PLC-controlled equipment, automated material handling systems, and vision inspection technologies
- Knowledge of OEE, Industry 4.0 technologies, MES systems, and automated production monitoring tools
