Production Stuffing Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Job Summary
Operate machines on the production line (Multivac, Circle 40, Shrink Tunnel, Velocity, Ultracan, Shaking, Delinking, Jerky Mixing, Batching, Stuffing, Spice Blend) to meet quality and schedule goals on the 3rd shift. Set up workstations, load and thread packaging lines, run QA checks (including weight, oxygen level, metal detection, blade inspection), adjust machine registrations, sealing temperature, speed, and related parameters; maintain records, verify spices and batch numbers, and ensure correct labeling and packaging. Lead and direct team members to start on time, coordinate coverage during breaks, and provide back-up support. Maintain housekeeping and sanitation, participate in preventive maintenance when needed, and communicate any malfunctions. Follow safety and food-safety programs (GMP, SQF) and assist with training new personnel. Ensure product integrity and quality throughout the run, document weights and batch tickets, and support overall production efficiency and quality goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School (minimum)
- 6 months manufacturing experience preferred
- Pallet Jack experience preferred
- Lock-Out Tag-Out Certified (OJT)
- Familiarity with HACCP (OJT), SQF preferred
- Other Food Safety, Quality, Technical, and Regulatory Training as needs determine appropriate
- Must be able to lift 25lbs - 35lbs frequently and 40lbs - 50lbs occasionally
- Understanding and compliance with all GMPs (OJT)
- Understanding and compliance with all personal safety rules (OJT)
- Position requires an understanding or food safety, quality, and SQF fundamentals provided through annual in-house and on the job training
- Ability to work with other people in a cooperative manner
- Ability to use discretion/judgment
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to read specs and BOMs
- Ability to understand weights and use basic math
- Trouble shooting and mechanical ability
- Speak, Read, Write & understand English, record numbers
- Use calculator and basic math skills
- Ability to make quick and proper decisions
- Ability to see packages and recognize quality
