Job Summary
Operate sophisticated optical manufacturing equipment to fabricate, assemble, treat, and handle lenses through various processes. Select lens blanks, molds, and tools according to specifications, mount lenses in cutting or grinding machines, set dials, and inspect blanks for flaws and coating thickness. Clean finished lenses and eyeglasses using cloths and solvents, examine work orders to determine specifications, and maintain production output standards. Partner with the team to continuously improve processes while adhering to safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and ANSI standards. Perform physical tasks involving lifting up to 25 pounds and working in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Demonstrated ability to learn and perform production-related tasks
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Able to read and write at a high school graduate level
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Able to operate various office equipment and Optical Lab equipment
- Demonstrate physical agility (bending, climbing, twisting, squatting, lifting, pushing, reaching, etc.) on a repetitive basis
- Ability to lift an average of 25 pounds on a repetitive basis
- Ability to see (Near, Distance, Color, and Depth Perception)
- Manual and finger dexterity, as well as hand/arm steadiness
- Ability to grip and hold items
- Good eye and hand coordination
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
- Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
